Text Box: On the lawn outside the Methodist Church Hall was the Fussell street organ of Bob & Rosemary Fisher from London and the ex Billy Brewer Dobbie roundabout owned by society member Lawrence Harper from Worcester.
The winner of the T.F.S. shield for the best model went to one of the societies founder members Dave Kennison with a nice model Cakewalk and Ark; this was presented by show lady Mrs Ellen Danter.
Thanks must go to Ellen & Edward Danter and Cotteswold Dairy for their sponsorship and not forgetting Text Box: committee member Ann Freeman and member Mavis Gregory who kept us fed and watered during the day.
The 2009 model show will be the big one, it will be held on Mop Fair day 10th October.
Text Box: TFS Model Show
Text Box: Last years model show was well attended during the day, but with the England rugby team playing in the 2007 world cup. The afternoon was a bit slow but never less a good day was had by all present.
The show was well attended by our many modeller friends who came with an array of models to the usual high standard. After many years of trying Tewkesbury’s Kevin Danter attended with parts of the Deakin Ark built by his father Don Danter and friend Ivor Martin. This model was shown on B.B.C.’s Pebble Mill program in 1977; hopefully this year we might see the whole model. If the Ark comes along, it will be the biggest to date. We might need a lorry to get it to the show, it’s that big.
Text Box: Tewkesbury Hospital Fete
Text Box: After the success at last years fete we once again presented the Chair O Planes juvenile owned by committee member Micheal Jones and for first time at the fete the Societies new Can-Can stall.
Both were very popular and we are hoping to repeat it this year, so please keep a look out for us and help support the Hospital League of Friends.

Text Box: The Guild presented a good Mop this year, with plenty of excellent rides. There was a very good attendance, with many people out to enjoy themselves after the horrific weekend the town had in July. Our stand looked very good with the new lighting, and at one time Steven Rawlings from the Showman’s Guild was at the stand encouraging showmen to join the society as they walked past!
It was nice to have a set of Gallopers in the town again last year situated in the Spring Gardens Car Park,
During the walk though the fair Steve Perry was in conversation with Jimmy Williams the Showman’s Guild President who appreciated what the society does and said that if we needed any help with anything to contact him at the Central Office which was very appreciated by the committee Text Box: The Tewkesbury Mop Fair
