Good News! - August 2007

The Showmans Guild of Great Britain - Western Section has been granted the running of the Tewkesbury Mop Fair for the next 10 years following the tendering process with Tewkesbury Borough Council.

AGM Meeting 2007

AGM Meeting was held on the 13th June 2007 and after a proposal from the President and with full support of all present, the annual membership fee will raise to £1.50 from Mop Day 9th October 2007.

PRESS RELEASE - 14 January 2007, as sent to local press:

We write with reference to recent press coverage of the Borough Councils possible proposal to put the running of the annual mop fair out to tender. At this moment in time Tewkesbury Fair Society are liaising with the organizers to see how we can best secure the future of the Mop Fair. Rest assured that the committee as always will do everything to safeguard the future of our Mop Fair.

PRESS RELEASE - 8 January 2007

You may have read in local press recently that Tewkesbury Borough Council are thinking of putting the Mop Fair out to tender. You, like us, are likely to be worried about the Mop's future. The TFS committee are meeting this week and communicating with each other and official bodies about this matter and hope to bring you more news as soon as we have it. Dont worry, Tewkesbury Fair Society, as in previous years, will be working hard to ensure the fair stays as it is for future years.
